An attempt to have the Senate summon the Minister of Transportation, ROTIMI AMAECHI, to appear in plenary has been thwarted.

The motion was moved by Senator ENYINNAYA ABARIBE of the PDP from Abia State who complained about the exclusion of the eastern rail line corridor in the request for loan from China’s Exim Bank.

Senator ABARIBE also failed to convince the Senate to stop consideration of the five point eight billion dollars loan request from China by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.

Senator ABARIBE wanted the Senate to compel the Executive to correct the lapses he observed, but the Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI intervened to save the day.
