Speaker of the House of Representatives YAKUBU DOGARA  has dismissed reports that he was planning to return to the Peoples Democratic Party.
DOGARA said this while exchanging views with state chairmen of the APC who visited him in Abuja.

The Civil Liberties Organization in Rivers State is concerned about what it describes as the worrisome state of opposition politics in the state.
The CLO said it believes that this falls short of standards of functional opposition which must be absolutely constructive and ideology based in its engagements.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General KENNETH MINIMAH has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the military in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents in the north-east region of the country.
General MINIMAH assured them that the fight against terrorism would soon be over as the Nigerian Army would continue to set up court-martial to check indiscipline among troops operating in North-East.

The Police in Yobe State has confirmed that six persons were killed after a suicide bomb attack on a church in Potiskum.
Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, TOYIN GBADEGESIN, told journalists in Damaturu that the male suicide bomber was also killed in the attack which occurred at Redeem Church in Jigawa area of the state capital.

The police in Pakistan say officers have arrested two Muslim clerics for inciting a mob to attack a Christian couple on blasphemy charges.
Local police officer FAROOQ AHMED said  the couple was beaten up and paraded around Makki, a village in Punjab province, on 29 June.
