Hearing of the petition filed by the APC and its governorship candidate in Rivers State, DAKUKU PETERSIDE, suffered a setback today at the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja. The Tribunal resumed sitting yesterday to continue hearing on the petition challenging the election of Governor NYESOM WIKE, but counsel to the respondents, including the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, filed a motion for stay of proceedings.

The Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal has suffered a temporary setback. The Tribunal sitting in Abuja resumed earlier today to continue hearing on the petition brought by the APC and its governorship candidate, DAKUKU PETERSIDE, challenging the election of Governor NYESOM WIKE.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, CHIMA NNOKAM, has challenged Governor NYESOM WIKE to declare his assets publicly. NNOKAM, who is the candidate of the APC for Port Harcourt State Constituency Two in the 2015 general elections, said if Governor WIKE makes public declaration of his assets, he would drop his petition challenging the result of the election.

State Publicity Secretary of the APC, CHRIS FINEBONE, described the offensive broadcast as the return of PDP Documentary Terrorism.
