Deputy Senate President, IKE EKWEREMADU is expected to report to headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja today.
Senator EKWEREMADU is under investigation over alleged alteration of the Senate Standing Rule which paved the way for his emergence as Deputy Senate President in the APC-dominated Eighth National Assembly.

The APC has denied the accusation that it was behind the police invitation of Deputy Senate President, IKE EKWEREMADU.
The position of the APC is contained in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, LAI MOHAMMED, in which the party claims it was not aware of the invitation of Senator EKWEREMADU.

Speaker of the House of Representatives YAKUBU DOGARA  has dismissed reports that he was planning to return to the Peoples Democratic Party.
DOGARA said this while exchanging views with state chairmen of the APC who visited him in Abuja.

The Civil Liberties Organization in Rivers State is concerned about what it describes as the worrisome state of opposition politics in the state.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General KENNETH MINIMAH has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the military in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents in the north-east region of the country.
General MINIMAH assured them that the fight against terrorism would soon be over as the Nigerian Army would continue to set up court-martial to check indiscipline among troops operating in North-East.
